THE A WOR(L)D

THE A WOR(L)D

This is a story about Max. About people he loves. About his way of expressing emotions and needs. About his environment. It is a sketch of his world marked with autism.

This project was to cast some light on autism as such and people who struggle every day, but they always have hope and fight with love and dignity. I also wanted to show that although we are all different, we always feel the same – we need to be loved and give love.

I had a privilege to accompany my friends and document the way they are trying to knock through the autism and get their son back, as much as possible.

At that time, it turned out that Max’s father wrote a book about their everyday life dominated by autism. It became my reference point. We decided to link his words with my images to tell the story about a very brave boy who never gives up.
